Last week we told you that we are undergoing a renovation in the Salon & Spa (read the full post here) and that we have set up a temporary location for spa treatments during the next few months. A few people have been asking us what the temporary location is like, and if it still has the “spa atmosphere” feel to it.

Well, yesterday I did a bit of investigating and got a tour of the Lodge suite that’s currently housing spa treatments, and I took some pics! I can tell you, although the location is temporary, it still had a wonderful, pampered and relaxing “spa feel” to it!

We are still offering salon treatments, as well as massage and facial treatments during the reno, so make sure to call 250-260-6648 and reserve your treatments as we are still booking up!

Winemakers Dinner with Ex Nihilo Winery

Tuesday, March 30 at 6:30 pm.

Join us for a 4-course dinner designed by Chef Jeff O’Neill, paired with wine by Ex Nihilo Winery of Lake Country.

Ex Nihilo Winery won the People’s Choice Award for “favourite red wine” at the Winter Carnival Wine Gala this year.

The cost is $98 per person plus taxes and gratuities. Please reserve your seat early as we are offering a limited number of tickets for the event.

The Salon & Spa at Predator Ridge – We’re Renovating to Serve You Better!

We have started a major Salon & Spa renovation to serve you better.

We are still offering salon services as well as massage and facial services during the reno.

The salon has been set up temporarily in the reception area, and spa services will relocate temporarily to a 2 bedroom suite adjacent to the Spa.

To the spa, we will be adding a new change room, giving the spa both a men’s and ladies change room, an infrared sauna, a co-ed steam room, two couples treatment rooms, and four single treatment rooms.

The renovated Salon area will include four pedicure chairs, four styling stations, and a make-up area.

We anticipate the Spa space to re-open mid-May and the Salon space to re-open in mid-April. We will keep you informed if there are any changes to these dates.

We look forward to you joining us through this transition period and are confident that you will like the newly renovated Salon & Spa!

How to Perfect Your Golf Swing… On the Plane!

In some areas, it’s already golf season, and here at Predator Ridge, it’s fast approaching! I often come across tips on how to maintain your golf swing throughout the winter months, but today a new one came across my reader – perfecting your golf swing on the plane by Psychology Today!

As you’ve probably been hearing lately due to the Olympics, athletes engage in mental imaging to perfect their sport.

“Mental rehearsal can be even better than physical practice because it activates more abstract neural representations of physical skills (with less specific detail about the muscles used), reports Erica Wohldmann, a psychologist at California State University Northridge.”

For the Inner Photographer in All of Us

Let’s face it – there’s something inside of all of us that wants to capture beauty on a camera, whether we have a point and shoot or the latest and greatest digital SLR. There’s an adrenaline rush and a sense of pride we get when we find that unique angle or capture the light at just the right moment. 

Working at Predator Ridge has really inspired me to experiment with photography. If you’ve been here, I’m sure you’ll know what I mean. The landscape is gorgeous year-round and it changes uniquely with each passing season. And each passing day – I took the photo below on February 23, and today, February 24, snow and glistening hoar-frost covers the earth. 

Not to mention the opportunity for up close nature photography – spend some time here and you’ll likely get the chance to photograph deer, foxes, all kinds of birds, and if you’re really lucky, bald-headed eagles!
